06VT365 03-15-2012 09:00 PM

Egr cooler, ipr valve, both under warranty, then wiring harness not under warranty. But it is starting to have some injector issues now. But that will be taken care of during my build.

And fwiw......i wouldnt give up my 6.0 for anything right now. I love this truck and motor more than any other I have ever had! I am the 1%.........that is 1% of happy 6.0 owners!

I keep the 7.3 around for when the 6.0 is in the shop! No no no j/k!!

I love the 7.3 too much and cant part with it actually. I love them both for different reasons, the 7.3 is, well, just that. A great reliable truck. The 6.0 I love cause it is soo much more fun..more power, easier power, and I love the sound of it!

My 6.0 has been a great truck however, might have a much different view if it was a problem child!

Jarma36 03-16-2012 01:18 AM

Those 6.0's have a nice lookin front end too, ill admit i always love the sound of em when i hear them drivin around

I am partial I know, but I think they are the best sounding diesel out there! Just enough clatter yet not too loud, along with the vgt turbo and that infamous "bark" when tuned its tough to beat I think!
I love a cool morning when it goes into high idle...sounds like a 747 is taxiing in my back yard.....not so sure,my neighbors like it but oh well!

Duramax's sound good too I think! funny how one v8 diesel sounds different then another! Kinda like how small block fords sound different than small block chevy's I guess.

Jarma36 03-16-2012 01:46 AM

Ya i love my duramax hiss, and i love the sound when the high idle kicks in when its 40 below cld almost trick someone into thinkin ive got a jet engine powered truck lol

Welcome! And I like the intro..."i still like the one i've got"!!

I shouldve followed my dream of being a heavy truck mechanic when I was 18!, got sucked into the family construction business instead....13 years later I still think about being a diesel mechanic. Hard to go to school now with a wife and 4 month old!

Glad to have here!

This... I have an early 04 so its got the 03 turbo that whistles like a Mofo and straight piped its loud at idle and driving. everyone hates it but me and other 6.0 owners but i dont care haha. might get a tad louder with the 4" TBE and powermax

I LOVE the 03 turbo!!

I've heard 2 trucks with the powermax, one was wicked loud the other not much louder that stock?? Not sure why the difference, some say the tuning make a difference but I don't know for sure.

ideezy5 03-16-2012 04:50 PM

I did love the sound of my 6.0 6 speed running up third and fourth gear at high rpms. Still turns my head when I here one now :drool2:

Agjake11 03-16-2012 05:11 PM

6.0 Straight piped has a very distinct sound at WOT.
