I have a thread over on FFS, but I figured id put one here. Im selling some of my toys to get another toy, my ma passed away last month and I think having something new to grind on and build would be good for me, plus I think id have more fun in the long run with a 4x4 than the toys I have now ha ha. Just the search alone is distracting me enough ha ha. Ill post up some things that Im interested in, and I may have some questions on some that other guys might be able to help me with. Im looking mainly at rangers, bronco IIs, broncos, and wranglers. I may consider a cherokee but it would have to be well built and solid. I may also look at a pre 02 explorer since ive had 2 rangers in the past, and since theyre ranger based I know them pretty well. Plus its unique to see a well built expo take to the trails.

Ive done A LOT of wheeling in my past trucks, but they were all DDs so I couldnt do too much. But this will be my first project 4x4, Ill be wheeling stuff that a stock truck could wheel, and maybe a little more than that since my buddys all have capable rigs, but they dont want to dent em up a ha. Id like to build something thats capable off road, but on road as well if the need may come. I enjoy the challenge of building something capable of both.

here are a few I have been eyeing, ive emailed a few, but over all it comes down to getting my budget financed without dipping into our savings.

i might go look at the 150 tomorrow. he will accept my cash offer. just need to go look at it and get some details. test drive etc. 800 miles on a fresh built motor. we will see if its a well built 4x4 or junk.

If the motor is as good as he says it is, it truly is worth more than the truck

After I emailed him he emailed back with "oh yeah, this is broken" and "this needs to be fixed" I don't have a problem fixing anything, but by not including it in the ad god only knows what else is broken and how trashed this thing might be. He's 2 hours away so I don't really want to drive all the way out there to find out its a complete turd. I don't like it THAT much.

I do like this, looks like its been taken care of for the most part.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. I have an actual plan to go out and look tomorrow, Not just a "give me a call" deal. Tomorrow around 6 my buddy and I are going to go take a look. I may drive it home.

It'd be the way to go for a dedicated trail rig
