fuel plated grinding
figured i would post up the templates i found. these are for if you wanna try grinding your own fuel plate on a 12 valve cummins. everything i've read says get an extra fuel plate and keep grinding starting with the most mild and go till you get the desired result without toastin your engine. you can always take more away but you cant add it back. also after the grind you wanna leave enough metal so that you still have room to polish the edge down to a smooth almost mirror like surface.
i have not done this but i spent about 2 weeks maybe more reading everything i could find on it http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...teprofiles.jpg http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...2685/plate.jpg |
Interesting, hmm the results different
shapes have. |
once read into it like i did you get to understand it pretty good. i didnt read into just removing the plate very much though..but it's just a mechanical map for how much fuel you're gettin. same thing your computer does, just on a much more basic scale and obviously not quite as controlled. although from what i found each design is still pretty dang good at what it's supposed to do. also some people have experimented with their own grinds and had good results
